Hi,
A friend of mine asked me to have a look at his Orange AD30 twin channel because he experienced a strange problem: while using an orange footswitch with LED sometimes one of the channels doesn't switch and the amp becomes absolutely silent.
This happens ONLY with a led footswitch and not every time he switches channel. Using a footswitch without led he has no problems.
I looked at the schematics (http://users.telenet.be/orangefg/orange_mods.htm) for the amp and traced the footswitch schem, it basically has the switch connected between tip and sleeve of the jack slot and a resistor/led pair in parallel with the switch.
I supposed that the led bleeds some current through the relay coils even while the switch is off, and this current is sufficient to keep the coils active.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks,
Frank

Re: Orange AD30 twin channel footswitch problem
I have exactly THE Same problem with my orange! When the amp is just on (cold tubes) everything works fine, but when it gets hotter, only the second channel works...
