Smoother sound? I guess a higher resistance with the miller capacitance of the input of the tube would roll off more highs?

I didn't think that the g/s resistors effected tone? It is a smoother sounding amp compared to a Marshall, but not exceedingly.

I don't think there is a significant difference in using 5k6 or 10k grid stoppers. I wouldn't be surprised if it was simply so they didn't need to order in as many different values of resistor - where else would you use a 5k6 resistor? 10k you'll use more often.

I left the grid-stoppers at 10k. Made a few circuit changes, but nothing too intrusive. Kemper owners can check out the rebuild by downloading Cornford RK100 #1 and #2 at the Kemper rig exchange.
