Ceriatone AH-100/50 voice switch?

Here is the layout of the amp; what exactly is that voice switch doing here???
It appears that its putting a .001uf cap to ground with a 1meg resistor between its path to ground; and this is fed from the cathode of the cathode follower/tonestack but what exactly would this do to the tone?
