Check out diystompboxes.com. I used to be pretty active there but it's a great place for pedal building.

Re: Clyde Mccoy Wah Circuit Board
Success, I got it working perfectly. The transistor leads were to long, also the ECB transistor needed some sleeves so the leads don't touch each other. Next I'm going to try different pot's, the pot I have in there right now is a PEC 100k-A, not sure if it can be used for a wah but seems to work just fine.

Looks great! I'm not sure why you chose mustard caps in this application, the classics use polystyrene, but if it sounds good that's all that matters. Styrene will give a brighter, clearer tone.

Re: Clyde Mccoy Wah Circuit Board
Yeah, if you went through all the trouble of finding the tropical fish caps, you need to get some styrene caps.
I think a big difference in the classic vs. the modern wahs is the size of the resistor in parallel with the inductor. It's referred to as the "Q" resistor. The classics had 100k, the moderns have 33k. The 100k gives a sharper effect, a more vocal effect.
I build my wah with a pcb from generalguitargadgets.com. Instead of fixed resistors it has room for trimpots in some spots. So you can adjust those values.

Re: Clyde Mccoy Wah Circuit Board
Tomorrow I'm going to try 33k and some polystyrene capacitors I should have some lying around.

Re: Clyde Mccoy Wah Circuit Board
I don't like the 33k, it definitely doesn't have a very pronounced effect. I hope I didn't mislead you, you definitely want the 100k.axeman wrote:Tomorrow I'm going to try 33k and some polystyrene capacitors I should have some lying around.
But the polystyrene caps will give you a clearer sound.
What kind of transistors you using?

Sorry for the late response, busy at work. The Transistors are Siemens BC109B

Re: Clyde Mccoy Wah Circuit Board
Hey guys I'm getting ready to order 2 more boards, they cost 10.00 each plus 10.00 for shipping. The seller said I can order up to 10 boards and still only charge 10.00 for shipping, so if any one is interested we can order 10 boards and once I receive them I will ship them to you for ruffly 13.00 bucks

Re: Clyde Mccoy Wah Circuit Board
I'm in...
What about the ICAR's & inductor ? (like that "Whipple" package on eBay.)
That PEC 100k-A is the right value... I'm assuming the sweep would be different with an L.

Re: Clyde Mccoy Wah Circuit Board
You can buy the inductor at small bear electronics, The so claim Icar pot is not an Icar pot. I have 98 pieces 100k-A PEC pots that can be converted to be used for a wah unless they are Leanier ? I'll post a pic
