Is this a lot of attenuation? Using this thing....

and will the cheap duralast heat sink from autozone work OK?
Take that expensive Mouser heat sink out of the picture and it becomes way more appealing..

Would this stuff be any good?

I've burned 50 watt power resistor (in aluminum case) with a 30 watt power supply, even though it was on a heatsink. What I am saying is that these resistors are rated for their wattage only when they are "cold" enough.
The "Brown Devil" type resistors are far superior in that matter, they do not need heatsinks. Look at "Rock Crusher" by Rivera, they use these types of resistors. By the way... The cooler they are, less noise will you get.
Just my 2 cents :)

Thanks haze-- I have an air brake build I did that I'm pretty satisfied with-
No heat sinks/ compound in that build... not sure if the resisters are the brown type you describe but suspect they are-

Think I'll avoid this one...
