never mind, the damn tube was bad. I do have a zenith tube made in holland that tests good, but when it first gets power it flashes bright then it goes normal. whats up with that. I think I need to just trash all my OLD tubes and be done with it.

the flashing of the heaters is perfectly normal in some tubes. IIRC there was a technical explanation on the Roccaforte site.

I'm glad I didn't trash that zenith  It is killer in my marshall. And thanks for the info. they say amperex and mullard flash at startup if the filaments are not equal in tempature, but once they balance out it settles down......which don't take long "flash" I just don't know if all do it or just some amperex/mullards
