Anybody familiar with new maxipreamp?
Does anybody know the new maxipreamp tube tester? If yes, is it a good preamp tube tester?
Here is a link to it: http://maximatcher.com/maxipreamp.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thanks
Daniel

There is a new one in blue. What is the different? Only case and color?
Thanks

@Axeman
Do you use the noise testing and audio out? If yes do you select tubes by finger tapping on them or so?
Well I'm think it over to get one, but want to get some users experience with this tube tester.

Very good tester, on par with most anything out there. I sent mine to Friedman when we had preamp tube issues and he rejected about 70 out of 100.
Now we use TAD tested chinese and reject far less.

Wow, 70 out of 100 is very hard to know. Sometimes you don't know what you get and then you have to test and test and hope they are ok...

Looks interesting, but I'd like to see some more tube test values as a number. For those who just want to know is it a good or bad tube it's fine.

I seen this and the bias tool at NAMM. But they were not powered up for trial. Could be cool for basic pass/fail testing.herbvis wrote:Here is a new product from orange amps that looks pretty cool as well

I agree, for a quick test especially in a live situation it could be very useful. How much want they for them?

No you don't have to tap them, their is a reading the machine. It's a great tool and you could really weed out those very weak preamp tubes that people on Ebay claim nos

Those look like pretty nice machines. I've been thinking about getting an old tester of ebay but most of them look like they are from the cold war era.

I bought a old tester,so unless you spend $200-300.on a good one with a 14 day return,the cheap Good /Bad one like I have are OK only for Finding dead tubes,The one I got was $40.00usd and it helped to find one bad NOS Powertube that I paid 180.00for the quad of RFT seimansvanhalen5150 wrote:Those look like pretty nice machines.
