Interesting to see that you all run NOS in all positions.

I know many players who will only run an expensive NOS in V1 and have new production tubes in the other slots. And they do this even though they've got a bunch of 12AX7s shelved.

I'm a bit guilty of that. I have so many amps I want to make my stash last longer.
Some have NOS V1 (and V2 if applicable) and then I"ll run a Sovtek LPS or EH12AX7 in the PI. Good sounding tubes in that PI position.

I'm loosening up the reigns though.

I like Raytheon shiny black plates in all positions. But I like to rotate rft's in v2 & 3. Mules are hard to beat in v1. Hell I have a couple new tung sols that sound great in v1. Great gain. But the raytheons are just the best to me thick as a hookers ass. Somethin about em just does it for me in most of my amps. Rft's are great for the$$$ if u have a over bright amp they are the ticket. Amprex bboys would be my next v1 tube if I didn't have the raytheons.

Try a silver plate Mazda if you can find one. Pretty spendy though, but oh so good!
Tungsram are pretty groovy too, but not quite the same league as the above.

My line up now is bugle boy or 161 in v1 Raytheon black plate in v2 and telefunken smooth plate in the phase inverter. Not heard anything to beat this combo yet. Although a tungsram works great in v1 as well
