Favorite cathode follower tube?

Post by GilmourD » Sun Aug 24, 2014 4:25 pm

Since it seems like it's been a couple years since this topic was really touched and tube production may have changed up a tad, what's everybody's favorite tube for the CF position? Are Tung-Sol RIs still dying horrible deaths in the CF position?

That seems to be the general consensus lately.

Anybody else have a different favorite?

Seconded 100%

For CP I tend to use JJ ecc803s in pi and cathode follower. It's the only jj tube I ever recommend with the exception of their 6v6s. All others I have tried have been repeatedly naff.
So I like purple, okay!!!!!!

83.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot!
