The way I got mine in was this. I set the pot into the turret holes and then held the tip of the soldering iron right at the edge of the lip at the top of the turret. I then applied a little solder onto the tip. When I did this I thought the solder would make a huge mess and spill all over the turret. Surprisingly, the solder seems to flow quite nicely down into the turret. I fed just a little bit of solder onto the iron (just a few millimeters). Then I checked that the joint was solid. I then flipped the board over and did the connections underneath with buss wire. When you're done you can check that the connections are good by measuring the resistance with a meter and turning the sweeper in the bias pot. I hope this helps.
