new baby cab for 69 clone

Post by badfinger » Mon Mar 20, 2006 1:11 pm

While waiting for my Purple Head Case to arrive, stuck in UK customs for 2weeks, :( (Many thanks George Superb! :D ) i decided to have a go at building a 2X12cab in matching color. Got some 3/4inch exterior ply from my local DIY store, Tolex , Gold Piping and Grill Cloth from Mojo.

The Ply is not as good as Birch Ply but fairly solid for a smaller cab, Used a couple of Vintage 30s for drivers, chosen mainly for there ability to handle over 100Watts.

Used T nuts for mounting Speaker and back panel, lots of glue and screws for sides. which are just but joints.

Tolex was stuck on with the spray on glue, which sticks well but gets everywhere.

I am very pleased with how the Cab turned out, although i have to say, unless you have specialised tools like routers and stuff, its VERY hard work :? , dont think i will be building another one in a hurry.

Stevie
