New 1960HW cab

Post by Jim SS » Wed Feb 15, 2006 8:52 pm

I just got the 1960HW cab and my initial impression is this cab seems to be very bright when compared to my 900 series cab. Also, it does not sound quite as 3D. Maybe it's just not broken in enough. However, when using both cabs at the same time, HOLY SHIT! It sounds increadible. Does anyone else have this cab. If so, what are your impressions?

some folk say they need a bit more breaking in compared to the g12m which is sweet out of the box. they should sound great afterwards.

All righty, now that I have had a chance to properly break in my 1060HW, I really like the sound of it alot. It sounds so much better than my other cab. I can't belive what a difference breaking in speakers makes. I gotta say I thought that it was bullshit, I mean cummon how much difference could playing the cab for a couple of hours make? But, it's true. Now my 900 cab that I've had for about 13 years sounds like shit. How could I have been playing with that thing?

1960BHW

Post by Yngve » Mon Mar 20, 2006 9:59 pm

I have two 1960BHW and l find that the 30H are fantastic, saying that l own a 1960BV and a Mesa Boogie Rectro with Vintage 30's. Before buying these two monsters I did an AB test with the following cabs

Orange 4x12
Hiwatt 4x12
Mesa Boogie rectro 4x12
Soldano 4x12

And the Hand wire series mind you the B Box sound more 3D and more defined... Sounded very close to memory to the Bogner 4x12 V30 that l ordered and never got :-( For the price these are a steal. What ever you do let you ears and your inner voice tell you what is best for you rather others, for we are all unique and for we have different tastes... thats what makes the world so interesting.
