Help hooking up two cabs to a hotplate

Post by gnugear » Thu Apr 06, 2006 12:25 am

I've got a 4x12 16ohm cab and a 2x12 8ohm cab. If I want to run them together, what do I need to do?

I'm pretty sure if you're running two 16ohm cabs, you just set the impedence selector to 4ohm, correct?

What about my mismatch with the two cabs? What does 16ohm and 8ohm equal?

Two 16 ohm cabs run parallel are 8 ohms. One 16 and one 8 would 5.6 or something like that. The problem is the 8 ohm cab will be louder then the 16 ohm cab. Twice as loud even when hooked up in parallel. :?
