How does the tall 4x12" cabs sound?
How does the tall cabs with 1960's specs (i.e. not 1960A TV) compare to the standard sized 4x12" cabs?
Some of these are 3,15" taller, others are 7" taller than the regular cabs. Will this give more and deeper and looser bass and a slower attack?

I have both and what l notice is a deeper bass and a bit loose bass response, were as the normal size cabs are tighter. The attach is much of the same. But definately a bigger overal sound deeper and bassier. But if you combine both cabs it sound huge, my windows shake.Roe wrote:How does the tall cabs with 1960's specs (i.e. not 1960A TV) compare to the standard sized 4x12" cabs?

I was thinking about the 1966-67 1960B and 1982B cabs that are almost 7" higher than the standard cabs today.

This is the only pic I have, it's an old one, nothing close up at the moment. I've since replaced all the internals in that amp, and after sticking the 68 board in, then changing it to match what ****** and ralle described for circuit setup, it finally sounds freakin' sweeeeet.
It's the purple hendrix stack, a tall 1982b and a slant, no side handles, just old-style leather handles.
Some might call it gawdy, I call it gorgeous, purple has the best tone! Heh.
