GM12......old VS Re-issue

Post by Ruben » Fri May 19, 2006 2:00 pm

And here's the same old question :D

BUT has anybody got clips from old GM12 and the re-issue's?

I would like to hear the difference. My cab is loaded with 4 GM12 'Blackbacks'. These I like very much but as I'm looking for a second cab I ask myself if it's worth paying 3 / 4 times the money for an original cab or maybe I should just look for some old speakers OR maybe the 1960AX is actually a good choice?

G12M blackbacks do indeed sound great. The reissue G12M's aren't as good as the blackbacks, and supposedly pre-rola G12M's or the Heritage G12M-20's shit on the standard reissue G12M25's.

It is probably not worth the cost to buy Pre-rolas with the excellent clones made by Scumbag or Celestion unless you want them to go with a vintage amp.
There are all kinds of Scumbag speaker clips here. http://www.scumbagamps.com/speakers.html
