When you mount speakers do you tighten the screws until the metal frame of the speaker touches the wood? or do you stop short of that?
thanks!

i just do them snug in an x pattern, you dont want to twist the frames, then you get voicecoil rub.

I'd think that you want to squish the cork or padding pretty evenly with all four screws. Evenly and with enough torque to safely secure the speaker but definitely avoid twisting or mis shaping the frame as it won't be flat and true.
Cheers to the ears.

Just snug. I see some cabs were they are just too tight and it flattens out the corkboard.

Tighten them with your fingers until the screw meets the back of the frame, then use a screwdriver to tighten them 1/2 to 1 full turn more.
