I think the template you have made is for the marshall reissue logo is that right? these are smaller in width than the old 60's logo (and music ground logo).

The measurements I have for the music ground logo are:

(hole) 27.5mm (hole) 35mm (hole) 32mm (hole) 31.5mm (hole)

These are the holes I have drilled and the MG logo fits perfectly.

Plexi logo a little over 6.125 inches long

A reissue and metal panel logo about 5.875 inches long

The main difference in the marshall reissue logo is the size, it is significantly smaller in width. This means the pin hole spacing is completely different too. Also the plastic is more of a bright white in colour. However, if you are planning to put a reissue 100 logo on your cab, this is the better match for it in my opinion, as they are made from the same plastic and paint.

The music ground logos are made from a plastic more faithful to the original logo which is more cream in colour. Also the width and pin hole spacing are pretty much the same as the old marshall logo. These do clash with the marshall reissue 100 logo in my opinion, due to the differences in the plastic and paint used.

Rule of thumb to discern original/vintage '66-'69 logos from later and reissue logos: look between the "r" and "s"...see how the angle between them on the vintage one comes out at a "V" shape, whereas the later logos have more of a "U" shape.

V is for Vintage! 8)

Hi!
After building several amps with the script logos I think I have found a safe and accurate method to install them properly. Here's what I do:

- Grab a water-based paint (I choose small red, blue or yellow paint pots that I use with my 2 year-old son to "paint").
- Brush the tip of the Marshall pins with the paint.
- Gently push the Marshall logo onto the appropriate position on the cab. The pins will leave a colored spot where they land.
- Gently take the logo away.

There you go! You now have the exact spots marked in paint, you can now drill safely, at least you are sure that the pins will fit right where they should, no matter what logo you bought!

Wow this thread brings back good memories! I am not sure my template will help but reposting these as I think the originals got corrupted. Please read through the whole thread as their are some great ideas. Dabbing the pins in paint is a great method that if I knew about I probably wouldn't have made these. Enjoy!

Anyone got one for the 11" logo?!? It's very flimsy and so you need the drill template to ensure the letters aren't skewed. Please advise and post and private IM me if applicable. Thanks in advance.

Hey everybody. So I finally dug around and found these 6" logo templates again!
Please be careful as the logos can vary. Test on cardboard first!
