What part, or component of a speaker will dictate how efficiently it performs? Or, are there more one variables that controls this?

A lot. The cone type, spider/suspension (and how stiff it is) and how large the magnet is, too.

BTW...I'm really enjoying the pair of Scumback M75-LHDC's (65watt, 35 oz mag) in my 4104 combo. These are excellent speakers... :thumbsup:
