JTM 45 Transformer

Post by Benvall » Wed Jul 17, 2013 8:26 am

Hi

Hope this is the right area for this post. If not please move. wasn't sure if it should go in the beginners section or the Transformer section. Anyway

Does anyone have any experiance of using the following transformer http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/i ... mrvt1566dt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. It's meant to be a direct replacement for the drake 1202-55. It is made by Danbury Electronics in Essex UK. I've heard that he used to work for Drake, no idea if this is true though.

I'm in the (slow) process of building a JTM 45. Thinking about using this transformer as i'm in the UK too.

Thanks

Hi
I too would like to know about this transformer as I am in the UK and just about to start my JTM45 Build
Also I notice that the chokes offered are either 3H or 20H. The first seems a too low and the second too hi ????
I would be grateful on any thoughts. Link below!

Hi!

I`ve been looking at the same transformers for a JTM45 or 50W plexi

http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/i ... frmrvt1546" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/i ... mrvt1566dt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ampmakers uses transformers made by the same company.
And the prices are okey (if your in Europe (like me :))
I think the 3H choke is fine for jtm or a 50w plexi.

I have now finished my JTM using transformers from Danbury and I have to say that I am very pleased with the products and the service. I did a quite a lot of research before buying and they seem to be the most reasonably priced if you are in the UK!
