It's been a while since I've been here. Glad this site was able to get rebuilt. I was thinking about building a nice combo cab for my JTM 45. It really plays nice through my 4 x 12 but I'm getting too old to carry that around anymore. Not sure I'll be able to carry a 2 x12 combo, but at least it would be all together. I wanted to let ELAD E know that I did build that strat I was talking about and, well I'm playing more now. I want to stay with the combo concept but not sure if that is the way top go. I do have a 5E3 I built 3 years ago and could probably get away with a 1 x 12 combo. I wasn't sure if a combo would not be too harsh on the 45. At any rate I wanted to get some other ideas on a combo package as I don't want to tote a bunch of stuff. I appreciate anyones opinion. ELAD, here is a pic of my toy that goes with the rest of the stable.

I would go 2x12 cab, not combo.
I found my full size BB combo v heavy and cumbersome, went back to head and 4x12 although a full 4x12 is probably overkill.
I do have a smaller 18w 2x12 that is fine and I take that to rehearsals, same size as my AC30 combo.
When I have some spare cash I will get a 2x12 myself, probably with speakers at an angle with a celestion gold open back in one half and a green back closed in the other half.

I'm using a 1965 4x10 cab with my newly built JTM45. The 4x10 cab is only 600mmx600mm and you can pick it up with one hand. Has all the qualities of a 4x12 in a small form factor.

I agree with Neil, avoid combo amps...

Well, I'm glad I asked. I really didn't want to do it anyway. I'll just leave well enough alone. So I decide to build a Princeton Reverb just to carry around. I'll leave my 4 x 12 for the JTM-45. That combo sounds so good as it is.
Thanks,
