the Flying Resistor

Post by Elad E » Sat Oct 19, 2013 6:28 am

been searching for 3 days and couldn't find an explanation to what it does.

best thing I found was a thread saying they help deal with stiffness of tone caused by using 470 Ohm screen grid resistors.
some pics of it showed what seems like both the yellow wire from the 8.2k resistor and the flying resistor were simultaneously soldered to pin 6 of V4.
either way, it isn't present in George's instructions, so does it make a difference at all?

It drops the voltage on the screens a little. Adds a smidge more compression that is all IMO, I do not use them.

would it also add more sag?

would a 1 or 2 watt resistor suffice or is a 3 watt needed?

2 watt is a minimum, IMO and probably a flame proof
