Are there any considerations before just plugging one in?
Re-bias seem like an obvious one. Any other changes need doing?
The solid state rectifier doesn’t cost much and if it’s just a re-bias why not give it a try.

As long as your amp is healthy and the filter caps are not on their last leg, adjusting the bias is really all you need to worry about. If the caps were really old, the extra B+ that the plug in gives would worry me a bit. With a healthy amp, the plug in will work just fine.

Thanks sort of figured that was it, but just wanted to be sure. Ran across a post where someone was going on about switching caps to different values. I can only assume they meant if your filter caps are old change them out.
