Awesome example of 12 series plexi

This recent Ebay amp is literally untouched inside! I know a few people who bid really high on this BTW. Simply awesome.

.022 output Couplers, and a set of .68uf on a 67.

That's different. Almost a 69
Very close to my amp.

Is that a 67? Ill bet its more like mid 68 considering those 2 things. Not long before they did go over to all the 'metro 69' values.

Judging by the serial # this would be a later 12 series. Probably made between April and July 68.

It's not standardized enough to say. Early on it was 820/.68 but I have no evidence of exactly when it changed. Same with the .022 to .0022 change.

George I noticed from the pics of that amp, if you check in the chassis there is an extra tube hole just by V1(left of V1.......) but was cover or something??...Was that common? 1968 never had 4 pre amp tubes??? Check the chassis pic ??? :?

Maybe that's why the new 1959HW's have that unpunched groove for where a 4th preamp tube would go...

the circuit you built really is not to the 12 series specs, its half 67 and half 68.
