Amp sounds great but there's too much distortion for "THE TONE" IMO.

Most all the sound clips i have heard from Bray amps have too much gain on them!! But fun to play anyways.
Like Dave said if your not using a 12000 your not going to get the real sound of Ed's amp anyways...

I think the Bray amps sound amazing...if anybody sounds like they have too much distortion, there's an easy remedy for that...turn down the gain! Bray makes specific amps for specific Van Halen album tones...I've heard Fair Warning and Women and Children First specific amps and they sound right on the money to me. And his first album specific amp that you hear Chelsea Constable playing is really, really close to my ears.white noise wrote:jnew wrote:Amp sounds great but there's too much distortion for "THE TONE" IMO.

Yes I did and it ROCKS!! Here are some clips of it! The last clip is a cover of "Somebody Get Me A Doctor"!white noise wrote:yes i have a guitar with a '78 in it, and both sound good.Sean_McFly wrote:Dude this thing sounds AMAZING!! It's making me excited to get my 4550 Deluxe combo. Have you ever tried this amp with a guitar that had an A2 magnet pickup in it, like a '78?
Did you get your amp yet?

I have to disagree with dave(even though he is the builder of the amp)white noise wrote:jnew wrote:Amp sounds great but there's too much distortion for "THE TONE" IMO.

i think his amp does the tone exact, just use a lower output pu or lower the gain if using a 14K pu like the EVH frank pu.
Leotis nails the old VH tone and so does sean mcfly with the 4550 and both have a perfect gain.
