the only reason i wouldnt bringiong any of my amps is the airlines would destroy them. we fly comercial everywhere. i use a pod pro xt out on the road.... i wish i could use my amps out threre...

yeah, You were getting hammered in the mix but ya still kicked ass 8)

On another note, since you using a POD xt pro to gig with, if you ever wanted something that feels and sounds better IMHO, I can HIGHLY recommend the Fractal audio AXE-FX. I'm totally blown away by the thing using it with a poweramp and cabs!!

I got an Ultra!

I liked the extra processing it offers and it seems as if the unit is still evolving and that versions seems like it has room for updates where the standard might not. I didn't want to be dead ended.

Check this out, You might find this funny!
I was asked to play in a coverband and I had to learn Starships Jane! I was checking out youtube and I saw you playing the tune!! That's why I posted the link!

All the best!!

Anyone seen this about EVH amps sold to Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby.
Interesting stuff about the effect loops and master volume and oversized transformers. I think Ed mentions these mods in a early interview about amps taken on the road and Rudy Leiren http://marshall.redpt.com/amp_pics/EVH%20Stuff/text.txt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

"On Van Halen's second Japan tour in '79, there weren't any apparent changes in the effects rig, but he brought a larger scale amp/cabinet system. "This time we brought the exact same sound and lighting system as we used in the States. It's probably at least five times as big."
"My rig is mostly the same as last year ('78), but the speaker cabinets are different. They were designed by myself and Rudy Leiren, my guitar tech and built by Flagg Systems. They have 12 inch Celestions in a closed cab so they're like Marshalls, but they're built with considerations to cartage and ease of wiring, so they're great for touring with."
"The heads (pic P-5) are Marshall, but the internals are pretty different. Me and Rudy customized them doing this and that. By using the amps in various combinations, we can go from 50 to 1,200 watts of power."
"

"Robbin Crosby my old guitarist at the time in 1980 bought four stacks
from him Eddie after a tour (Ps thats a great time to by equipment by the
way! lots of touring bands will totaly sell half thier equipment aftet a tour for
dirt cheep). The amps were Plexis that had been rewired and had oversized
transformers, and added master volume and effects loops in back, some were
metal faces some plexi."

Also check out Mick Mars and bi amping and Rudy Leiren.

"MARS Well, Theater of Pain was the beginning of my using the Kramer and Charvel Strat and Tele-style guitars, and that continued on through Girls and Dr. Feelgood. Also, around that time I was working with Eddie Van Halen’s old tech, Rudy [Leiren], and he came in and set me up with this bi-amp system that changed a lot for me. I started to combine a lot of different amps, mixing and matching Hiwatts and Marshalls and Vox AC30s—all this different stuff. So I’m always open to trying new things."
