i would not use just one resistor for a load box.i would build it over power like 400 watts and mount them to a seperate heat sink.they get soo hot they can de solder them selves with a 100 watt plexi!!

They certainly can! My little 8 x 50 watt box runs cool enough now with them all mounted on some aluminum plate.bmf5150 wrote:they get soo hot they can de solder them selves with a 100 watt plexi!!
A 300 watt resistor without a proper heat sink has to be derated to around 40%... a dimed superlead will heat it up pretty good.

well as long as you can afford more opt like EVH did you dont have to worry about it.rockstah wrote:its 300watts!

Question please
Hey gang I hate like hell to beat this horse to death, so sorry here goes, have any of you using this line/load box have had any issues at all concerning your tonage??? I notice when I use with the marshall 2204 she does not like her now the P6505+ no problems, Im wondering If I need to add the weber speaker motor to this project? Im thinking and I sure being a rook< Im wrong but doesnt the impedance change?? and these are hard as fk on the OPTs, so Im thinking adding the motor might enhance the performance of this line/loader? And the marshall will sound better,Ok, anyone out her that can respond I promise to put this horse to sleep for good!
Its like amp to cab hey it kewls and all great tonage but tap that line to the effects is the bomb!
Any input at all would be much appreciated, hate like hell beating this to death, once I figure out to incorperate that speaker motor in I will post back!!
Thank you
MA
