Wow, the eq (either ge10 or mxr7) weren't a staple in his chain?? His amp sounded that good? All i can say is that for me to get anywhere near his tone with my metro, I have to use a ge10, heavily. The tone without it is nowhere near what it would need to be, as well, it's so bassy. On the ge10 I have first 4 bass bands fully cut and i've got the output at least 3/4 the way up but I've only got my vol1 on ~7.5. I've also found that while i have the dual vol pt, it sounds closer to me with a variac at 90v and on HiV...bias ~36mv.

Is a powerbrake reactive (not on 100% load)?

Using an MXR 6 band EQ set as a frown curve with the mids boosted like they say he did sounds nothing like Eddie´s tone. Don´t think he used that much.

I think the eq works best with the midscooped 6ca7s maybe?

For what its worth, I think it is valuable as a historical record.
