Alright man. Time to bring this back and get it right. Never could get the compressor board that I built to work. Anyone have any updated info on this compressor?

I don't think the compressor board is a key to anything...but what do I know? :what:

I think there is a little something going on in this area. And I say this because of some of his tones even outside of VH. Some stuff just has that compressed yet hairy grain about it. Subtle but present.

The compression is from the studio 1176 I think.

I'm suspecting something upstream of post stuff though. A little bit of what I'm talking about happens when you put an MXR 6 band in front. There's a bit of a squish thing that happens and I'm sort of haunted by the possibility of his EP-3 having a compressor in it. Something is not right with the EP-3 compressor schematic. I built it and triple checked it and it's not right. By that I mean it doesn't work right. Not talking about it sounding right because that of course, I wouldn't know. (Yet anyways) :(

Not yet but I'm about to pull the trigger on one. I'm without a delay for months now and I'm ready to just get whatever I can get my hands on. It does look like a pretty good one though. That Danelectro Reel Echo pedal is also VERY convincing. 8)

I bought a used Catlinbread Belle Epoch mint condition for $150, and just ordered a Catlinbread Talisman (Their Plate Reverb pedal)

It will be interesting to compare the Epoch to my Ep3.

Oh man. Do tell.
MightyMike was just here all day with his two 68 Marshall's and I would have loved to have had a delay. His super lead was just fun, fun, fun. It's a VH amp all day, all night. Simple as that. Just killer. I'm sure MrTwistyneck would agree. 8)

Dude that 50 watter or yours held it's own with my 68. I was blown away with it. The best I've ever heard. It was awesome to hear the Variac between head and cab upfront and personal.

 I remember telling you about how special that amp is to me, and that I'd never sell it BUT, if you really want to trade it for your 68 Super Lead, well, maybe I'll think about it.

I'd rather just build one like yours :toast: .. but if this was 1968, and both were new amps on a shelf to pick from, it would be a no brainer. I would pick your 50 watter over my 12369. It was that good.

Not saying it's better, but it's comparible. JNEW getting that level of tone at lower volume without sacrifice is sn amazing feat.
