All the Mighty mite 1400's,1300's and 1800's with a silver baseplate are the earliest ones wound by Seymour duncan when he was contracted to wind for them
Randy Zacuto was the founder of Mighty Mite.
He hired Seymour Duncan (OEM work) around the mid 1970s to design and work on Mighty Mite pickups.
the brass ones are after duncan was no longer working for them.
I have a creme MM1400(silver baseplate,9k) i got from rgorke and i love it and the 1400 as well a 1800
the 1800 is a 1400 with slug poles in place of hex poles. other than that they are the same pu. 13.5K large ceramic magnet.
The dimarzio super 2 does not sound the same in any way and is not supposed to.
The super 2 is a neck model to pair with their super d in the bridge.
You can use them in the bridge(jerry garcia of grateful dead did) but expect no bottom end and a VERY pronounced treble.

The 1800 is actually a 1300 with slug poles…That is what he meant. They sound very much like a 1300.

The Super 2 is a beast of a PU but yes it's true. Not much bottom end at all. I replaced the ceramic with an AlNiCo II and it's much more game and usable, but still lacks a good bottom. 8)

As in your post here & in another thread,
either there are discrepancies with your findings or the MightyMite ad clearly showing the baseplates is inaccurate.
