Here is my submission. Actually 2 different amps. One with Celestions and one with Peavey Scorpions (which sound more like the JBLs). In each clip Ed plays first then I follow.
Celestions:

Scorpions:

Well here is my submission...jb pickup...secret pedal....Freidman spec plexi circuit ..6ca7's ...volume on 1 (low volume)
mic 4 inches away from center with sm57 any closer and low end disappears for this clip.and I didn't lower the guitar volume for the clean bit and added some reverb.

Re: The Official RWTD ISO VS. YOUR CLIP thread-CLIPS ONLY!!!
This is what I came up with and how.
Guitar-90s Japanese Fender Strat with 6 screw vintage trem and maple neck
Pickup-Dimarzio Super Distortion(newer model F spaced) 2 pennies on bass side penny and dime on treble for height
Amp-Bray 4550 plexi-1987 50 watt plexi circuit with value changes and PPIMV, no added gain stage. Amp was in tube rectifier mode(ala jtm 45). Upper left input. Everything dimed except Bass on 3. PPIMV also dimed. 8ohm(amp) to 16 ohm(cab) mismatch. Tubes are 3 JJ ecc83 s, 2 EH EL34, 1 JJ GZ34
Cab-4x12 with Chinese Greenbacks miced 1/4 from cloth, straight no angle.
First part of clip is ED then me alternating back and forth on just the riff. Then the whole Iso followed by mine.

Sounds good...best on this thread so far. May I ask if you notice a difference between the F-spaced and the Gibson spaced SD?

guitar > ep-pre > amp > cab (paralleled with a load)
SL
split 820/.68
0022 xicon
mixer 330p
v2a 820/25u
tone stack 33/560p lemco
output couplings .047u mallory
2 tubes EH6CA7
weber stan spec 2x12 w/ load in parallel
no attenuation
had to run the TREBLE on the amp at 4 to match the subdued growl of the ISO - but still i couldn't get it like i wanted... must need a component value change. or maybe it's the guitar.
parts-0-caster w/ hot rails bridge pup, 6 screw trem, rosewood fretboard.
http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11752204" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
could be better for sure - but i wanted to submit the amp i'm currently working on...
oh yeah - i had to EQ the heck out of it in post to get it close enough to even post!! had to dump 10db of 1.2k with a wide cue (.68).
here is the same clip with no post production help... kinda sad.

I'll let you guys decide if you think this is any closer. Everything the same on this clip except I'm using a Duncan 59.

Re: The Official RWTD ISO VS. YOUR CLIP thread-CLIPS ONLY!!!
Sounds good Thorny, but I really can't see anyone, ever coming close to strat78's Nov27 for Runnin' or Nov16 for Little Dreamer. Crazy EVH tone!
