you could have saved yourself alot of time and money and just pulled two speakers from your cab. you'd still have the el34 tone but half the volume. the 6v6 is a different sound altogether and will not be much (if any) quieter than two greenbacks in a 4x12.

The layout looks pretty good, didn't catch any issues. This would be a fun project, thanks for posting. Great work! :toast:

I also want a different tone, all of that in a small 1x12 combo package. 4 gain stages, PPIMV, etc... just need to add a loop at some point...

Thanks Strat78, I couldn't have done this without the help from all of you guys here a metro... Sharing the layout is the least I can do for the comunity.

The schems that I gathered are public, and analysing the bogner triple giant sharp channel (that I used as my HIgain channel) it's not much different from a MK2 boogie, maybe the main difference is the tonestack being after the gain stages while the boogie uses the tonestack after the 1st stage. After reasearching the tone that I was after (early Jerry Cantrell tones from dirt and facelifit) I came up with that schem which is supposed to be the preamp that bogner modded in a JCM800 he used to record both albuns. Brian from BFG does that mod... I heard a few owners of BFG Snorkler amp and they said that the amp can do boogie tones as well, so I think I'm on the right track here. Now I have to gather some $$$ to start building

Thanks guys, let's see how it ends up :hairband:

That is a cool idea. I wonder how a 12 series curcuit would sound with a 18 watt tranny.. Hmmm

Even though it is not a full exact 12xxx spec preamp, it still has some (many actually) components with the same values... I like 6v6 when they are cooking, the mids and the chunk reminds more an EL34 than a 6L6 :what:

BTW do you guys have any sugestions for a nice and easy fx loop other than the metro zero loss? I can't find one at a decent price shipped to Brasil and was thinking of building one myself.. schematics maybe?

Thanks!

Hey guys, more updates

I found the correct values for the SNORKELER amp so I corrected the lead channel and did a few changes.
1) removed the CF from the clean channel
2)added a tube bufferd FX loop
3) Removed the tonestack lift switch from clean channel
4)changed many component values to match the correct snorkeler spec in lead channel
5) elevated heaters at the preamp tubes in lead channel (12,6v)

Here is the complete schems. The layout is coming shortly. Can you see anything wrong? (you have to open the image in a new tab to see the whole schem :what: )

Layout (I think it's cleaner)

Transparent stuff goes underneath the board.

Sorry to resurrect an ancient post, but did this build ever get completed? I'm looking to build something just like this.
