New Build
Starting my new 69 build. Got the heater wires done. Snapped off the pin one terminal of v6 installing the 1 ohm resister. Thing broke really easy. I think i can take one out of a new socket and install it so I don't have to remove the socket. Going to cascade and go for low filtering. Got Heyboer transformers ready to go in next week.

Re: New Build
Great start. Are you sure you can/want to replace just one pin rather than the whole socket? They aren't that expensive and i would hate for you to have a problem down the line because of it.
Just a thought....

Re: New Build
i probably just change the socket. They are less than 4 dollars and it would be a pain to change it later. Im in no hurry to get it done.

Great looking 69! What do you think of the next gen sozos? That work shop of yours looks so familiar to all of us here, I'm sure we could all swap shops and jump into these projects without skipping a beat.

Re: New Build
My little workshop/mancave is a complete mess right now. I gotta clean it up this weekend. Wire clippings and crap everywhere.
About the Sozos..i dont know. I really cant tell a difference. I had some mallorys .1's laying around and put them in the PI couplers and I think it sounds pretty good. I got a bunch more on order and im am thinking about swapping out all the Sozo's. Other brands are much more easier to get. As it sits now:
100 mains
16 screens
32 PI
16 pre amp
Im waiting on an order from Valvestorm to start swapping things around. One other thing, guitar signal is running through a GE-10. It really changes the sound.

Re: New Build
Yeah that sounds great. What tune were you playing in the first clip? Sounds like a Curt Mitchell song.

Re: New Build
Alright. Took out the 16 16 filter in the pre amp and installed a 32 32, also removed the 32 32 PI (only one side hooked up) filter and installed a jumpered 50 50 filter for a total of 100 on phase inverter. Really changed things up. I'm liking it.
