Duncan calls this pickup model 79 or Evenly Voiced Harmonics.
My neck is 7.93 ohms & bridge is 9.1 ohms these pickups are really versitile and sound great for everything, flat out these pickups rock.

It sounds great here... You are in the Arean so to say... lol
rockstah wrote:the pickup i have been using in my les paul is the shredder from jim wagner. it measures 16.7k - here is a clip with everything the same as last but now a jim wagner darkburst pickup ( 8.5k) interesting. this brings to my attention that when dialing it is important to think about which pickup you will be using as you can see the sound changes quite a bit. i think my ears are shot at this point and the playing is not as up to par - taking a break for a day or so - if i can
tell me what you think.

Hate to tell you this. It ain't even close by a longshot. Sorry, you posted this for a reaction and there you have an honest one. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Even Ralle is missing quite a lot interms of dimension and harmonic detail, but these clips of yours are miles and miles away. My suggestion is to stop trying to copy Eddie Van Halen and try to do something more along the lines of old Pantera since that is more your playing style.

Ignore the troll. If he doesn't have the balls to log in, then he is not a man, but rather, a dog.
I think you've got the plexi sound happening, Mark. But here's some contructive criticism: make sure you meticulously tune your guitar. It was more than a little out of tune on most of those clips. And you need to do something about that hum. Make sure you turn your monitor off after you hit record, if you're not already. Those things make a guitar hum like a mutha'.
