New caps for a Marshall SL-5

Post by mojopoet » Thu Apr 02, 2015 4:44 pm

Hey All, It's been a long time, but thought i would post and see if i could get some advice for my new SL-5. I play classic rock(EVH, Clapton, Jimi, etc) and blues and was wondering A) what you would suggest for upgrading caps(Sozo's?) and B) with a cap upgrade, getting a little more gain and possible more sag. I did the Rocksxxh mod on my JCM 800 and like the tone(especially playng EVH).The cap values and filtering were spot on for me. Does a class A amp create more problems trying to get that tone? I'm not a technical guy, hence my reaching out to you all. I will probably replace the speaker with a scumback. Any advice woud be appreciated. Many thanks, TD

I'd go with the new (white) Mallory 150's.
Rip Ben Wise (StuntDouble) & Mark Abrahamian (Rockstah)
