Here are some pictures of the amp in it's current state. Don't laugh at those big Iskras, those are the only resistors I could find at the time. You guys bought up all the 1/2Ws! I think they look kinda cool actually Remember this is a players amp! In hindsight I should have never sent this to the plexi palace.... But Metro didn't exist at the time I've learned a lot here at the Metro Forum. You guys are the best!

thanks for posting the gut shots. the diodes in the rectifier - are the leads wrapped? never seen a rectifier section that looked like that - can't tell what i am seeing.

Yeah, just insulation I stripped off some 22awg wire. It's not pretty but well insulated.

The pics are great. I've always had a thing for those 2w NOS resistors whether Iskra or Piher. They definitely don't hurt the tone and might even improve it! You pretty much have the specs and brands that we see in the 12301 pics, but that CC 910R V1B might be sweetening things nicely. The power board is ugly as hell, but there are some good things coming from those little caps, makes me question the impulse to always throw in NOS or proper looking caps. It's the tone that matters most. Pink wire yay! Did you guys know that the color pink was traditionally a masculine color up until the mid 20th century.

Yeah, the 910 was a happy medium between 820 and 1.1k. That was the ticket.

Strat78, where would I find NOS filter caps? I have had absolutely no luck in finding any other than Valvestorm. I kinda gave up looking....

You just have to get the word out and also scour eBay etc, until something comes up. It took StarGuitar and myself just about a year to find most of the NOS caps and resistors for his restoration project. But like you said, you want that amp to be a players amp, and those caps in there now are really creating a great feel to the amp. Maybe just get some old leaky period correct caps for the top of the board just for show, then just hide those small caps under the board.
