My signal chain,

Epiphone Explorer with a Super 70 pup
Variac 65 Volts "bedroom volume"
Bugera 1960 Every knob on 10 "Non infinium" 2 tubes pulled
Crate 1x12 8 ohm
Sm57 "Dead center just off the cloth"
Focusrite 2i4
Reaper "Straight RAW signal"

Weak link is definitely the speaker, also the running the stock bugera tubes. At 65 volts I have the bias knob cranked and only getting 24mv. Any suggestions? Thinking about getting a dunlop ep101, But seems like I need a MXR microamp. Sooner or later a set of EH6CA7's and Mullard CV4004's. Amund Blix bugera tone is a goal...

Took some readings. Maybe this explains why its not sounding great at 65 volts? I have not tried listening at higher voltage, to LOUD! Need a reactive attenuator, load box, or one with both. Any recommendations?

Made another clip at 89 volts, two tubes, cheap strat "has no bottom end at all, just treble.." and my super 70 loaded explorer. Had the cab in my closet under a few blankets. Clip has reverb and the dry guitar is panned 30% Left.
