If you notice less feedback it's because the volume on all these clips were around 5, with the bass cranked. Verses Volume cranked and Bass at 2ish like I usually play.
interesting...
- volume on 5
- bass cranked
with those settings - the gain, bite, sustain is all perfect.
i think on that 4th clip, turning the volume up might have been a step away from THE tone. but i noticed that jnew plays more aggressively in that clip which might be having additional effect - must have gotten excited by twisting that volume knob to the right... intoxicating!
this is inspiring. period. thanks for posting these.
The pickup covers will smooth out those Super70's. It was allot of fun seeing these vids, but I'm surprised James didn't reach for the toggle switch on that Destroyer!
I did it it a couple times but we didn't catch it.
Great point on the PU cover. I just installed a Super 70 on one of my guitars and it's really kind of harsh. I can hear how it has some of the "IT" thing going on but seems a little overly present and kind of rough in the highs. I do have a cover that I'll try on that thing today.

Thanks Rob. Wish we had a player like you, Phil or Eric, IN DA HOUSE, to do it some better justice. Mike can play but we was up to his neck with boxes of stuff to sort through. That mad man is stocked up.

Thanks Art. Here's another Video from that day through the same 68 PA. All the 100 watt videos sent my phone microphone into cliping. I needed to be about 20ft away but the room was too small for that. So the annoying fur you hear is my phone not the amp.
The guitar is a edit.... Swamp Ash Body, Zebra Wood Neck, Vintage Trem, Brass Nut, with SH5 that JNEW built.
"68 PA Double Variac'd W/Swamp Ash SH5"

That guitar is actually Swamp Ash and really light. I only mention this because my heavy, Northern Ash guitar. As well as Mike's heavy Northern Ash Frankie, both pound harder than that light Swamp Ash guitar. I clearly get what LP's have the thunder. Big lumber = thunder, for sure. That Super PA is an awesome amp man.

I really scored with that 68 PA. Same iron as a 12000, and now it is converted to Super Lead Spec. It still has that 27k NFB resister I need to up. I paid less than half for that amp that I paid for my other 68 # 12369.
