Best way to slow music down?

Post by TheDarkness » Thu Oct 30, 2008 9:52 pm

There are a lot of tools and programs out there, some even free and some very expensive that claim to "slow music down w/o changing the pitch". Well that's all I want, just to have a control over speed of an MP3 or CD, nothing fancy. I just want to catch hidden notes and character in solos. What's my best bet out there?

I use Transcribe and have used The Amazing Slow Downer in the past. Both are great apps. If you just need something simple for slowing down MP3s and don't need all the bells and whistles, look into free plugins for whatever media player you use. I know there's one for winamp called Pacemaker which is ok.

I use The Amazing Slow Downer too.
I like the loop feature and the pitch changer, this way I don't have to retune the my guitar to match the song. Works great!

I bought this program years ago. It is pretty cool. I like it.

FYI...Slowgold doesn't work well running Vista (they don’t specifically support it)....otherwise it is pretty cool.

Do all the slow-down tools have that tunnel affect when you change the pitch...or drop the volume when you slow-down a track? Those are the 2 most annoying features of my slow-down software?
