Phantom Power Question

Post by Bainzy » Thu Aug 13, 2009 2:26 pm

I've just got the FMR Really Nice Compressor, to use in between my DMP3 pre and a mic. Will I be able to pass 48v phantom power through the RNC's unbalanced 1/4" inputs, or will I need yet another box to produce phantom power instead of the DMP3's phantom function?

Usually the compressor goes after the preamps, why do you want it before? Is mic-level signal even enough for the compressor to work with?

Well looks like someones just wasted a load of money on XLR patch cables and XLR > mono 1/4" converters then!

My suspicions should've been aroused when I couldn't find any threads on google discussing this already!
