For those who are having problems, I'd like to share what I do to keep recording latency NOT a problem.
In Windows (XP or ? ) if you have your Operating System disk you can use a "dual boot" method
which only uses resources that you've installed & programmed.(The disc will prompt you with directions.)

In other words; strictly for music.
The new O.S.would be utilized just for recording. All you would need to do is tell your computer
which O.S. you want to boot to when you start up, (prompts automatically)
You would have roughly 25 seconds to decide before it defaults to the main O.S.
No extra bullshit & less getting pissed off.
This way you could easily restart between your music O.S. & your everyday O.S... Simple as that.
