which PT would be historically correct in this early el34 amp? would it be the same PT as in the kt66 amps or would it be the later tranny?Flames1950 wrote:Yes, the very earliest EL34 amps did still have the seven-cap/six-diode board just like the KT66 JTM45/100's. Roger's Amp Archives site has pics of at least one of these amps available.Roe wrote:so the boards is correct for the first el34 amp as well?
That's what I plan to build with at least one of the chassis I plan to snag......

As far as I know the PT, or at least the first PT specific for EL's instead of KT's would be the 1203-80. The OT would be the 1202-132.Roe wrote: which PT would be historically correct in this early el34 amp? would it be the same PT as in the kt66 amps or would it be the later tranny?
This is the information Greg Germino offers with his '67 "Fillmore:"

And a nice shot of the rectifier/filter cap board there as well.

Like anything Marshall the transitions were not that organized. Here's some 45/100 shots with EL34's, the 1204-43 PT, and the 119 OT which came before the 132:thousandshirts wrote:As far as I know the PT, or at least the first PT specific for EL's instead of KT's would be the 1203-80. Here's one with an eight cap board even, but the older single rectifier arrangement:
