George, I totally understand your situation since I had something similar. In my situation it all started just before Christmas with wide spread flooding do to over two feet of snow melting in just a couple of days coupled with heavy rain at the same time. A day later we had the ice storm which produced power outages....Then we were back to snow again. Now we've been entertaining this lastest snow storm for the past day or so and were looking at maybe another eighteen inches by the time it's done.....Cold as hell here too....A balmy 6 degrees and falling with a wind chill of -10 to -15. No hazardous waste spills though!

Wow George, just read the mlive.com article--right on your doorstep no less. Try to stay upwind until that stinker dissipates. :palm:

This has been quite the holiday season. Keep your chin up men, remember there are those who have it far worse. I hope your situations will pan out soon. We must be due for some good luck by now. Lol

No catastrophies here today yet, unless you count the -9F temp. Brutally, bitter cold out there. Everything is frozen. We are going to hunker down in the house today, kids can play with their Xmas toys. As long as the heat and power stays on (and the plumbing doesn't freeze) I'll call it a good day.

My son broke his left humerus not far from there last year (skiing over jumps - with his instructor  ). My wife and I were two valleys away in Courchevel 1550 when we got the call - we really motored to get there but he was absolutely fine - he had been given a Paracetamol and could not understand what all the fuss was about.

It must be a rare planetary alignment or something. Weather forecast is for 6-12" of snow headed our way, starting tonight. The news says schools are already planning to be closed on Monday, the first day back since before Christmas.

The house was 62 degrees this morning when we woke up. The furnace seemed stuck in a weird mode, no heat in the chamber and the fan running on low. I reset it and is heating up. Hope it was a fluke, but the way things have gone lately......

We have 6" of snow so far and at least that much yet to come. Possible wind chills Monday and Tuesday down to minus 35. No chance kids will go back to school. We'll stay inside and wait it out.
