Replacement OT for a 1987x (Europe)

Post by Harold » Thu Aug 16, 2012 10:43 am

I've rebuilt my 1993 1987x using a PtP board with fancy Sozo's and the likes and now I'd also like to upgrade the OT.

I got a tip that these IGPW Marshall® 50 Watt Outputtransformer are really good, but they're out of stock and there's no ETA according to Tube-Town. :what:

What's the next best OT to try? I'd really like it to be available in the European Union to save some taxes and time ...

I had a '92 1987 reissue, and the stock Drake OT was fantastic. I'd suggest burning in your Sozo's and give it a chance before you spend more money. Sold it to a Dude that had to have Merc OT, and I thought the original was better, more organic.

The 100 watt Dagnall reissues seemed to have missed the mark, but give that Drake a chance. Just my two cents.
