MCI transformers---
I'm looking for opinions/comments about MCI marshall transformers.
If you have experience with the various "big name" producers and your results, i'd love to hear.
It seems in most cases "cheap is cheap"....a you get what you pay for. but after trying several Mercury trans.....maybe thats not true. i've never liked MM in a early marshall. glassy sounding. over priced...overrated.
can 'inexpensive' MCI's be good? thanks for any input!

They have clips on their website for the 50 w OT, I think.

I've used both versions of their 45/50 watt PT, and the 50 watt OT in several builds with great success.
The OT sounds very good.
3H choke as well that has a cool vintage look.

Re: MCI transformers---
I have a Classic Tone power tranny in my 12xxx series Super Lead build. It does what it is supposed to, but that is a far cry from an output transformer.
Why is it we can remember where all the wires go, but can never find a pick?

Re: MCI transformers---
Guessing he means getting proper voltages from the PT is not the same as the tone produced by the OT, which he apparently did not use.joey wrote:Why?BrownSound1 wrote:I have a Classic Tone power tranny in my 12xxx series Super Lead build. I received two week ago two Drake 784-139 replicas, Brian Wallace specs.from Marstran. Best 50W OT replicas I ever used, almost no diferences from original tested as new Thanks
