Which Transformers for Chupacabra?

Post by FourT6and2 » Sun May 24, 2015 12:06 pm

Thinking about building a Chupa or Yeti from Ceriatone. Was wondering if any of the transformers listed in the Metro Amp Store would be a good choice? I'm not looking for a "vintage correct" type of sound as the amp is more of a high-gain modded type thing. So I'm looking for a PT/OT combo that is tight, authoritative, but still has a hint of sweetness. I built a Plexi clone a while back using MM trannies and while it sounded pretty good, it was overly stiff and clinical.

I will most likely build a 50 watter as they tend to sound sweeter than 100s. Even though 100s are tighter and more punchy.
