ORIGINAL Drake PT 1202 118

Post by SpaceCharge » Wed Jan 02, 2019 2:17 pm

Greetings,

I am new to the forum, and would like to extend a respectful greeting to the Members of the Forum.

I'm a Retired Tech, and have been professionally trained. I'm Also a Journeyman Electrical Maintenance Tech. 40yrs.

I WAS doing a scratch build Plexi Sleeper in an 18w small box cab & chassis. (TMB).

My Dear Wife has requested that I NOT build another LOUD amp. (She remembers my Marshall MAJOR!)

So I'm gonna build an EL84 18w with a 50w Plexi Preamp. (I know about the voltage differences)

Now here's the main issue:

I have an ORIGINAL DRAKE 1202 118 Power Transformer! NOT appropriate for an 18w build.

It's from my '68 50w I had in the 80's. (I had a spare parts one.)

It's been Hi-Pot tested, "Dim Bulb" tested, brought up with a Variac, and all voltages are OK. A WINNER!

It was from a USA only, and all the primary taps were cut except 120v.

I think SELL IT to someone that NEEDS an ORIGINAL PT! Gotta be RARE these days. Laydown '67-'69...

Since I've been lurking here for years, and HIGHLY RESPECT the membership,

I'd kindly appreciate comments on WHAT TO DO NOW with this Good '68 Drake 1202 118? Value? :what:

Sorry, unsure how to post pics yet.

Respectfully, SpaceCharge.
