how would you describe the duncan antiquities compared to all those ?

The throbacks compared to T Tops,Throwbacks sound tighter more focused in mids, both sets are great! I Have been close to ordering a set of the limited Throwbacks, after some comparisom with many other builders, I am now getting the throwbacks, thanks George for the clips, good stuff...

which throback do you talk about ?

George told me there was more clarity in his throback DT-102 than his T-Tops, whant i might not be looking for, the T-Tops have already enough clarity/ high end.
but if the throback are richer in teh mids then it can balance it a bit

did someone compared the Throback (DT-102 & SLE-101 LE) and Tom Holmes pu's ?

which is the less bright ?

the thing with the "pure" (i mean less overdrivens even if i love kossof and page tones as much) PAF tones you can hear like clapton/mayall or bloomfield and a few others , is that it seems there is some sort of scooped frequencies somewhere in teh mids on a narrow bandwith or maybe a peak on a narrow bandwith, that gives this honk/ quack that's still smooth but with great clarity and still smooth high mids. (on top of this smooth attack, harmonics and rich smooth/ balanced mids and low end; it has it's distinctive type of tone compared to other famous or less famous pu's) .
it certainly has something to do with slight microphony as well.
it seems that's all that combination that pu's builders seem to have difficulties to put all in at once.
T-Tops seems to have much of all (not totaly ) that when you put them in teh right guitar (or they can sound awfull) .
they are teh ones among all the ones i heard that seems to give me the closest tone (although i kept most of the PAF clones i have bought these last years except all the classic 57' i had bought at first, just kept the stock ones) to these famous ones i heard (knowing about the recording process with teh stuff they used back then) although they can be piercing and thin in some guitars.
the Fralin's 7,5k/8k i have are quiet close to the T-tops (with that loose/ smooth attack as well) but not quiet as smooth in the high end.
