Re: SD JB Jr PUP
I had one in my strat. It's a good sounding pickup but was a bit choked using a 250k pot. It definitely sounded better with a 500k. I ended up returning the guitar to stock just because I have other strat type guitars with a bridge humbucker and wanted a straight up Strat. It's a good alternative to chopping up a pickguard and possibly routing the body. To me it's smoother than the full size JB but has the flavor and harmonics of the original.

Re: SD JB Jr PUP
for a strat I would recomend the Screamin' Demon in this type of pickup. slightly lower output than JB but, still high output.
Iknow ...I know the whole George Lynch attachment kind of throws one off on the real quality of the pickup.
you think you are getting some shed-monster pickup....
My friend put this style of pickup( so he wouldnt have to carv up the pick guard too) in his American Fender strat and
it was really really great sounding. he has had it for years and he has a great guitar collection(Les Pauls Paul Reed Smiths Godins) but, once he put this pickup in it became his main guitar.
strat on steroids in a very non strat sounding tone , more open (PAF-ish )
