Ibanez BIG Block for Edge

Post by JimiJames » Mon Apr 25, 2011 6:21 pm

Ordered this yesterday. If it's anything like the ones for a Strat I'll be a happy camper.

Like this ? http://forum.metroamp.com/viewtopic.php ... 79#p333867" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
hehe ofcourse not! I assume you are refering to an early RG series.
Yeah, just putting the finishing touches on my FrankenStrat in which I swapped out the Kahler SPYDER and worked in an Ibanez EDGE. My fav FR type.
The guitar sounds and feels great already. I thought I'd give this a try. It can only impove. :shred:

Yes I have an early RG my wife got it for me years ago, plays like butter but it could have better tone.
I do have a new strat body and neck for a super strat build but that is going to be 6-screw vintage all the way.

O.K. Here it is...
Might be a little pricey but it makes a difference.
In a nut shell... You can feel the density and resonance in the neck especially top strings.

In the Fenders you'll also notice more of a difference and I would recommend a steel block for a 6-screw vintage (Callaham)

Oki doki. This finally completed my project in witch I am 99.99% satisfied with the results in all of the mods done to this guitar.
I'm really into this LesStrat switching. It's everything I need in my technique & style. I'm using a DiMarzio Super & Virtual Vintage.
Time to make clips :rocker:

I would never buy a block from them, severely overpriced.
I've bought 2 big blocks from ebay member hoockey and i got both for less than one from Floyd Upgrades.

Couldn't find hoockey on eBay member search but, you're right about being pricey.
I don't know how new but it's listed as a new item on their site. I just found out this was available so I thought I'd give it a try. Overall I like it. Definitely noticeable on the top strings.

I'd probably get another one for a 540P SH I have. Can you post a link to hookey ? Thanks

I will try find him but there are people who do similar things, make them themselves that sell on ebay.
