just got a 2010 charvel for 599. its a great guitar for the price, neck is great as is everything else with the possible exception of the jb pickup. have anyone else tried these?

That's about the typical going rate for the Asian-made Charvel San Dimas Style guitars here in the USA. They're always quite a lot of them on Ebay, and they're good, cheap players.

I used to be a huge Charvel user back in the early '80s, when the brand was purely custom instruments, crafted in the old San Dimas shop. Alas, those days are gone.

yes, these are affordably japanese san dimas style 1 guitars. But compared to the recent US made san dimas and so-cal guitars these are actually quite good. price is about the same, but the neck and fretwork is better on the japanese guitar. I quite impressed by the attention to detail, given the price.

Shouldn't it have DiMarzios (Tone Zone and Evolution I believe) in it? Did you buy it used for $599? Maybe someone changed the pickups in it.

the san dimas style guitars have duncans, the so-cal have dimarzio. guitar was used, they cost a little more new
